Lecture: The Basics of International Humanitarian Law
March 11. 18:00 - 20:00
We are hosting a lecture with Helmer Jonelid from the Swedish Red Cross!
The Basics of International Humanitarian Law: Even war has rules. International Humanitarian Law (IHL), also known as the Laws of War, is a 150-year-old legal complex. These rules protect those who do not, or no longer, participate in combat and limit the means and methods of warfare. International Humanitarian Law does not prevent armed conflict, but if adhered to, it facilitates lasting peace, once the conflict is over. In this lecture, Helmer Jonelid, IHL instructor for Röda Korset in Gothenburg, will teach you the basics and answer any question you may have about the legality of modern warfare.
Fika will be provided! Sign up here!
