Lecture Description:
More and more, humanity is facing dire consequences as a result of our development. The temprature is continously rising as risks for worsened natural disasters increase. Yet, despite many years of scientific evidence of climate change, some are still inclined to ignore or even deny this phenomena. Question is: why is that?
In this talk associate professor Martin Hultman will critically examine why we are not acting on the knowledge of climate emergency through his work on climate obstruction. It is rooted in a long history of colonial fossil fueled hetero-patriarchal domination over nature. If we are to stop the climate emergency from going further laws and gender identities-structures praxes need to be changed. Rights of Nature and Ecological masculinities are suggestions to that have transformative potential.
