Climate change in Afghanistan
Thursday, March 19th, 2020. 16:30 - 17:30
The Society of International Affairs welcomes you to the second lecture of the year with Krister Holm!
Krister Holm has been working at The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan since 2013 as communication manager. He has many years of experience in development issues and has previously worked for the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation.
The work is conducted in the poor Afghan countryside with special focus on women, children, people with disabilities and internally displaced persons. People in Afghanistan are the least responsible for climate change, but at the same time hit the hardest. People are committed to helping Afghanistan despite of war and 55 percent of the population lives in poverty with only 30 percent of these having access to electricity.
How will the country be affected by global warming? How does it affect the work of the Swedish Afghan Committee?
