Lecture by the Swedish Minister of Defense

Peter Hultqvist, born 1958 in Stora Tuna Dalarna, is a Swedish journalist and politician. Starting of his carrier as a reporter at leftoriented newspaper “Dala-Demokraten” he later on continued to write for several other newspapers such as “Norrländska Socialdemokraten” and “Aktuellt i Politiken”.
However, his compassion for society lead him to leave journalism in favour of politics a long time ago. Peter Hultqvist has now been working in the political field for nearly 17 years. He started as a town councillor in Borlänge before he became a member of parlament (S) in 2006. In 2014 he was elected Minister of Defense and has been working for the government ever since.
