Localizing SDGs: a case of Hunger Project in India

Thursday, December 10th, 2015. 17:30 - 19:00

The Society of International Affairs invites you to the lecture about a case of localization of Sustainable Development Goals in India by Hunger Project’s Project Manager and Fundraiser Katja Blomé.

2016 is a very important year. The Sustainable Developments Goals (SDG:s) were signed by 193 countries at a historical event in New York. 17 very ambitious goals have been adopted for a better, more sustainable and inclusive world. But what happens next? What do we do to achieve “sustainable development”?

Katja Blomé from The Hunger Project Sweden shares her experiences and stories from the field. She recently returned from a field trip to Northern India, where The Hunger Project works to empower elected women coming from poor parts os rural India. Katja will discuss how The Hunger Project works to localize the SDG:s to the community level, and what challenges and opportunities arise with the new development agenda.
