UF Board 2017: Partial Election

Partial Board Election 2017

Since several members of the current board are leaving their positions, the Society of International Affairs is looking for some new board members for the autumn semester of 2017. Apply until 28th of August!

Head of the Event Committee (1 position):
As head of the Event Committee, together with the current one, you will be responsible for the movie screenings, study trips abroad, and other events, such as Fika Politica and parties.
For movie screenings, you will be selecting documentaries and hosting these screenings every other week. For study trips (one per semester), you are responsible for being the leader and organizer of the trip. The trips are funded through a combination of grants and participation fees, so keep in mind that going on a trip will require you to spend some amount of your private money. In addition, you will plan and host other events and social activities for the members.

Head of the PR Committee (1 position):
Together with the current head of PR, you will be responsible for keeping members up to date on our activities as well as spreading information and making connections to new audiences. The main tasks will include writing weekly newsletters, updating our website and social media, designing posters for our events, organizing class visits and a welcome mingle for new students, informing about how to become active in UF at the events, strategically planning how to market our events together with the other committees, and leading the ‘High School Project’.

Editor-in-chief of Utblick (1 position):
As the editors-in-chief of Utblick, you lead the work of the editorial staff of our quarterly magazine on international affairs. Important tasks include managing the contact with the printing house, providing feedback to writers’ ideas as well as editing the magazine before it goes into print. You are also encouraged to keep the website of Utblick updated with new articles.

Head of the MUN Committee (2 positions):
The heads of the Model United Nations committee will recruit participants for local simulations and delegates for conferences in Sweden and abroad.
For the local simulations, you will research topics, provide guidelines to the participants, and chair the sessions. For the conferences, you will make applications to participate, prepare together with the delegation, and coordinate practical matters like travel and housing. The active members of the MUN committee will help you with these tasks. Travelling to international conferences is only partly funded by grants, so keep in mind that holding this position requires you to spend some of your personal money.

In order to apply for the positions, you must be able to work in a team, be proficient in English, and be interested in international affairs. Previous relevant experience is highly appreciated.
