500 Years Later

Crime, drugs, HIV/AIDS, poor education, inferiority complex, self-hatred, poverty, broken homes, poor health, and corruption plagues people of African descent globally – Why?

 

Filmed in over twenty countries and on five continents, 500 Years Later is a compelling journey, infused with the spirit and music of liberation, that chronicles the struggle of a people from enslavement who continue to fight for the most essential human right – freedom.

 

500 Years Later is an epic multi-award winning documentary. It has won five international film festival awards in the category of Best Documentary, including UNESCO “Breaking the Chains Award”). Other awards it has won include “Best Documentary” at the Pan African (Los Angeles) and Bridgetown (Barbados) Film Festivals and “Best International Documentary” at the Harlem (New York) International Film Festival.

 

The documentary is presented in co-operation with Cinema Politica and Folkuniversitetet.
