Secret Solidarity: Sweden’s role in fighting apartheid in South Africa
Wednesday, October 29th, 2014. 12:00 - 13:00
Sweden contributed substantially to the eradication of the racist policies of the apartheid regime in South Africa. Bengt Säve-Söderbergh, has been involved for decades in the struggle against apartheid and colonialism in southern Africa, and recently published a book which explores this issue.
The book presents the unique and relatively unknown role of Sweden’s solidarity campaign in fighting apartheid, and other colonial regimes. In this lecture, he will talk about his book and shed light on the current situation in the countries where democracy has finally been achieved.
