The Society of International Affairs would like to welcome you all to a lecture by Gambiagrupperna. Anders Pettersson and Robert Alexandersson from the organization will give a lecture about the transition from dictatorship to democracy in Gambia. Recently elected President Adama Barrow came to power after President Yahya Jammeh had ruled the country for 22 years. What is an election like in a country with limited freedom of speech and what characterized President Adama Barrow’s first months in power?
Gambiagrupperna is an organization founded in 1978, working for development in Gambia. The organization goes by the name Future in our hands in Gambia and is also operating in Sweden, mostly with information and formation of opinion.
