Lecture Israeli Domestic Divisions

Isabell Schierenbeck is Professor in Political Science and Deputy Head of Department at the School of Global Studies (SGS) at the University of Gothenburg. Her primary research focuses on state building and democratization in the Middle East with a particular focus on Israelis domestic politics. Recently she has developed a new research agenda focused on the donor-recipient relationship in international development cooperation in Rwanda and Ethiopia. Schierenbeck has conducted extensive fieldwork in Israel, Palestine, as well as Ethiopia and Rwanda. She is the co-editor of The ‘Local Turn’ in Peacebuilding (Third World Quarterly), co-author of Political Leadership, Nascent Statehood and Democracy (Routledge) and Safer Field Research in the Social Science: A Guide to Human and Digital Security in Hostile Environments (SAGE, forthcoming).
